Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 amβ9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I swear Chicago gave me some kind of condition where I could not stop craving pizzaβeven when I already knew there was a decent chance it would disappoint me. π Walked past another pizza shop and, once again, completely failed to resist going in. Menu at the end. π Pepperoni βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ ($5) Pretty good. The crust is much thinner than the deep-dish slice I tried before, though the whole thing is still fairly salty. They are very generous with the toppings, and the slice itself is enormous. Most importantly, it was not dry at all. There is barely any thick outer crust eitherβthe edges stay thin and crispy, which I really liked. Nothing especially groundbreaking, just a solid, satisfying slice of classic pizza. π658 N Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60622, USA

This place was right on the way to the United Center for me, and we were literally looking for a place to sell slices. We were very happy to find a place that sold slices. Good timing, comma. The slice was okay. I know I need to make this about the pizza. The deep dish was better than the slices of regular, in my opinion. The sauce has really got a great flavor, but it's hard. We don't know how long those things were sitting there. So I definitely am giving it four out of five. She was really nice, and it was a really convenient location.

I ordered a deep dish Margherita pie for Pi Day and it was delicious! I got takeout on a Saturday night. Pickup was fast and the ingredients were really fresh.

Iβm from Chicago so I know a bit about Chicago style pizza. My absolute favorite is Bartoliβs! We order Nonnaβs Spinach & Cheese deep dish and add sausage, and onions. The flavors are so fresh and for a deep dish, itβs actually lighter than most. Kudos to owner Brian for keeping the quality top notch! Bravo to the best!

If you're looking for a great pizza spot without the long waits, Bartoli's is a fantastic and solid choice. I had the chance to try both their thin crust and deep-dish pizzas, and while both were delicious, the deep dish was the real standout. They have it crafted perfectly. I visited when it was quiet with only a few other customers, so I found a seat immediately and didn't have to wait at all. For a perfectly made deep-dish pizza in a relaxed setting, Bartoli's is an excellent option.
